Why become a member?
An artist-run center like L’imprimerie is a place dedicated to research and creation, managed by and for artists. We offer services, training, and programming that foster professional development. Joining our association means becoming part of a dynamic community that renews printmaking and photography practices and builds connections with peers.
Membership
L’imprimerie works on a price scale. Depending on your reality and your financial capabilities, you can choose the amount you are able to donate. When you give more, you encourage L’imprimerie to fulfill its mission while enabling marginalized and low-income people to use the studio.

*The inclusive rate is designed to recognize the systemic oppressions that artists and members of our community may experience. It is open to emerging artists, art students and anyone who experiences or has experienced structural barriers and systemic issues related to age, class, social status, gender, race, ability and/or atypical background. Member privileges
- Only members in good standing have access to the centre’s studios and services, in accordance with the terms of use.
- New members are entitled to a one-hour consulting session with a technician that includes a general introduction to the studios.
- Regular members are entitled to vote, and can also serve on the board of directors.
Members involvement policy
L’imprimerie encourages its members to get involved with the center in various ways. In recognition of their involvement, members receive a bank of credits that can be exchanged as follows:
- For every 3 hours of involvement at L’imprimerie, a member receives a $35 credit that can be exchanged for:
- Access to workshops, either supervised or open access, as applicable;
- A discount on digital printing, up to 20% of the total cost of a print job.

Annual membership is mandatory to have access to the services of L’imprimerie (except for courses and workshops).
Creators of all backgrounds can find their place at L’imprimerie, regardless of their level of professionalism or autonomy in the print and photographic arts processes.
