A unique conference

L’imprimerie, in collaboration with Les Rencontres internationales de la Gaspésie welcomes NoRoutine Books
on Tuesday, August 20 at 2 p.m !

Just before their return to Lithuania, meet the founders of NoRoutineBooks during a unique conference that present their art-publishing projects. The artists will explain their editorial choices and award-winning design strategies.

NoRoutine Books is an independent publishing house founded in 2014 by artists Gytis Skudžinskas and Vilma Samulionytė that specializes in the design and printing of books by exceptional artists. All publications are limited to 99 copies and include unique inserts. The post-production is finalized in the NoRoutineBooks studio in Vilnius, Lithuania. Gytis and Vilma have set themselves the editorial line of presenting works of art by transposing the exhibition space into the book format. In doing so, they work closely with Lithuanian and international artists to conceptualize and transpose their artistic projects. It is in this spirit that NoRoutine Books goes beyond the boundaries of their editorial practice and experiments with new avenues of printing and binding.

Their publications have been awarded and finalists for several prestigious awards. NoRoutine Books is part of the European collection of the British Library, the MoMa Manhattan Artists’ Book Archive, the Thomas J. Watson Library of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Belvedere 21 Museum Fine Books Room, the Women’s Art Library of Goldsmiths College, the University of London, the Lithuanian and Latvian National Libraries, among others.
