Residency update

Since last Spring, nine artists, engaged in a resindency at L’imprimerie, called Le Chantier, have been conducting research on the printed and photographic image.

The studio is animated with exploration, experimentation and production.
and everyone is carrying out experiments with great care. The multidisciplinary practices of the artists in Le Chantier allows for a diverse and mixed aproach to photography and printmaking. While the darkroom is regularly transformed into a cyanotype studio, the lithographic press gives birth to mysterious banknotes, and the large press allows numerous embossing experiments. Our digital studio, enhanced with Piezography, is busy with the production of large scale digital negatives.

In addition to studio work, residents traveled to various studios in New England, USA to deepen their knowledge related to various printmaking practices as well as the publication of artists’ books (Zea Mays, Horton Tank Graphics, Gravity Press, Makers’ Mill, Vermont Studio Center, Mass MoCA). Enjoy here a few pictures from this tour.
