Le Chantier Happy Hours!
Launch of
Le Chantier, a research project on the printed and photographic image in L’Écrin
Wednesday, October 24, starting at 5 p.m.
Time for the artists of Le Chantier, a research project on the printed and photographic image to take over L’Écrin! In this exploration space developed by Caroline Boileau and Stéphane Gilot, our artists-in-residence will create an installation work following parameters set by the artist-curators: a sort of relay installation work!
Come join us for the launch of Le Chantier in L’Écrin, on Wednesday, October 24, starting at 5 p.m. to see the first installation work in the company of the artists and artist-curators.
In residency since the spring, Gwenaël Bélanger, Mathilde Forest, Mathieu Grenier, Céline Huyghebaert, Janie Julien-Fort, Camille Lamy, Stéphanie Nuckle, Eliza Olkinitskaya and Étienne Tremblay-Tardif have been developing their personal research and creation projects using l’imprimerie’s facilities. As their work evolved through various group meetings and time spent working in the studio, each artist mixed his or her own specific concerns with the shared issues of the collectives. As reflections of the one informed and connected with those of the many, an irregular and at times unexpected network of images, words and materials began to appear.
The installation project developed for L’Écrin is meant as a complement to the ongoing Le Chantier at the Maison de la culture Maisonneuve until November 26.
As always, this event will follow our tried and true potluck formula. Bring your drinks and a dish to share. Kids welcome! October 24, starting at 5 p.m. at L’imprimerie.
