L’imprimerie and the Loto-Québec Collection are joining forces to offer a guided tour of the exhibitions followed by a studio immersion into the world of Elmyna Bouchard, a leading figure in contemporary printmaking in Quebec.

The morning begins at the Loto-Québec head office, where Manon Pouliot, curator of the Loto-Québec Collection, will lead a guided tour of the exhibitions La nature nous habite as well as the award-winning works from the printmaking competition. In the afternoon, participants will be welcomed into L’imprimerie’s production spaces for an immersive exploration of Elmyna Bouchard’s artistic universe.

In her production studio, the artist refines traditional printmaking techniques into more environmentally conscious practices while honoring the legacy of fine art publishing. Her visual research is rooted in textile structures and woven patterns. These repeated motifs evoke the imprint of a longed-for respite amid the uncertainties of domestic life. Seeking care and kindness for both body and mind, her creative process emerges from an ongoing reflection on the erosion of our certainties. This sensitive artistic approach was recognized by the Loto-Québec Collection when she won the printmaking competition in 2000.

Founded in 1979, the Loto-Québec Collection was largely built around this annual competition, which served as a springboard for many professional and student artists until its final edition in 2003, granting its 36 winners valuable recognition. Today, the winning works are displayed in a dedicated space at Loto-Québec’s head office. Comprising nearly 5,000 works created by more than 1,200 artists, the Collection remains a major supporter of contemporary visual arts and an important part of Quebec’s artistic heritage.

Elmyna Bouchard

Born in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region and trained in print arts at the Sagamie centre in Alma, Elmyna Bouchard has, for more than 20 years, pursued a practice focused on paper-based art through which she has developed multiple approaches that frequently draw on printmaking principles. Since 2015, she has contributed to advancing the concept of eco-responsibility in print arts. More recently, a body of her lithographic works received the Loto-Québec Eco-Responsible Practice Award at the 2025 edition of the Trois-Rivières International Biennial of Contemporary Printmaking. Her work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions, and her pieces have been acquired by several corporate and institutional collections. In 2003, she received the Fondation Monique et Robert Parizeau Award, presented to an emerging Quebec artist who has made a significant contribution to the field of printmaking.
