Walk of Le Chantier

Invitation
Le Chantier: a research project on eco-friendly art practices
August 6th 2022

L’imprimerie invites the cultural community, its members and the citizens of the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve district to a sensory walk towards the Boisé Vimont on Saturday August 6th at 3pm during La Grande Fabrique event. This walk will be animated by the artist in residence Sophie Cabot and will allow for a discussion on eco-friendly art practices.

When we walk, we create lines, spaces, situations, exchanges, links and images. We will continue the reflection on the ecological image started in June, but this time by listening to our bodily senses. Images come to us through our senses, and we also create them from them. All these images are constantly changing, fluctuating to the rhythm of our trajectories and influencing each other in our relationship to others. Let’s walk together from the individual to the collective!

The atmosphere is meant to be caring, conducive to diverse points of view and experiences. The departure from L’imprimerie is set around 3pm. The pace of the walk will be rather slow and we estimate the total duration of the activity at 3 hours. Bring your water bottle and a snack. Please note that a video recording of the event is planned . In case of light to moderate rain the event will be maintained, in case of thunderstorm and heavy rain, a new date will be proposed!

The event is free and children are welcome.

*Note on the location of the picnic: The sector including the Steinberg woodland and the former CSF wasteland are the object of a citizen’s mobilization against an important industrial-port project which threatens the environment and the health of the inhabitants of the neighbourhood. The project is an intermodal platform that the company Ray-Mont Logistiques (RML) wishes to install on the site of Assomption Sud Longue-Pointe.
