Gradual reopening

Dear L’imprimerie community,

The Government of Quebec authorized the reopening of artist-run centres on May 29, the first step towards a well-anticipated cultural deconfinement. Therefore, we are pleased to announce that L’imprimerie will resume its operations gradually starting on August 10, 2020.

As the deconfinement plan is being implemented, it is important to highlight the issues faced by L’imprimerie in order to better understand our efforts during this temporary closure. First, this unexpected suspensions of our regular activities allowed the administrative team to subscribe to financial aid programs granted to organizations. Our proactive efforts have reduces the negative impact of the situation on our services and protected our employees’ working conditions.

In addition, this health crisis has raised important issues regarding work-family conciliation policies that are at the heart of our considerations. L’imprimerie takes into account the reality of each of its employees, by working to achieve a good work-family balance and ensuring employees’ health and their health conditions, all the more relevant in a pandemic context.

We are developing a detailed plan to implement the new health measures required by the Institut national de santé publique du Québec. We are committed to putting in place procedures that will allow employees and members to work in a safe and enjoyable environment. We will be communicating these new measures shortly by means of a press release which will be available on our website from the beginning of August. Once the plan is implemented, a test period will be necessary to train our employees who will gradually return to work. Furthermore, we are pleased to inform you of the gradual return of Geneviève Turcotte, who will resume her position of director, returning from maternity leave.

Please be aware that we are listening to the feedback we have received from our members over the past few months. Stay tuned for our next communications as we are planning a digital printing blitz in July before the official reopening. Details will be given on how this express service works, which will give you enough time to prepare your files! You can count on our team to answer your technical questions questions by an email at art@limprimerie.art in early July.

Now more than ever, we feel the need to gather with our community through the enjoyment of creating. Print is a starting point, a pretext for experimenting, learning, thinking and creating together. We are eager to fill our studios with the laughter and overflowing ideas of our members. Until our activities resume, rest assured that the reunion will shine.
