L’imprimerie, centre d’artiste
In a festive and relaxed atmosphere, Catherine Aboumrad, Camille-Zoé Valcourt-Synnott and Sonia Plourde will present their projects created during their creative residency at L’imprimerie. Join us to discover the inspiring work of these artists!
The event is free, snacks will be provided, and Boldwin organic beers will be available for purchase. The center is accessible to people with reduced mobility, and children are welcome! The presentation will be in French.
To get to L’imprimerie, take the metro to Pie-IX station, then bus lines 139 or 439 to the Sainte-Catherine Street stop. You can also take bus 34 from Papineau station. There is a BIXI bike-sharing station at the corner of Valois and Sainte-Catherine Streets.

Catherine Aboumrad
July 2024 – July 2025
Catherine Aboumrad graduated from Concordia University with honours after completing a bachelor’s degree in fine arts. She teaches at Cégep du Vieux Montréal while simultaneously working on her photographic projects. She has participated in several exhibitions and events throughout Canada and abroad, including at Guatephoto, the contemporary photography festival of Guatemala and Parcours Photo Sherbrooke, in collaboration with the Musée des beaux-arts de Sherbrooke. Her work is part of private collections including the HBC Foundation, Art-in-Buildings Collection of New York and the Collection Auer in Switzerland.

Camille-Zoé Valcourt Synnott
November 2024 – June 2025
Camille-Zoé Valcourt-Synnott is a multidisciplinary artist and cultural worker from Québec City (QC). She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Print Media from Concordia University in 2018 and a Master’s degree in Visual Arts and Media from NSCAD University in 2020. Her performances reflect on the value of an artist’s labor, perceptions of productivity, and where life and art intersect. She is interested in the intersections of labor, gender, and class dynamics. Her multidisciplinary work has been presented in artist-run centers and galleries across Canada.
Sonia Plourde
May 2025 – November 2025
Sonia Plourde is an artist and clothing designer who lives and works in Québec City. A mother of four and a 2024 graduate in Visual Arts from Université Laval, she worked for two decades as a costume designer and clothing creator for various projects, following studies in arts, literature, and fashion design. Recipient of the Albert-Dumouchel Award for Emerging Print Artists in 2024, she is currently pursuing graduate studies in Visual Arts at Université Laval.
